TOP 100 QUEST: NOMAD, Surry Hills
Nomad in Surry Hills, Sydney is a place serving really good food with a difference – some interesting combinations like Moreton bay bugs with pork jowl, and goat cheese churros. I really didn’t know what to expect but I was very pleased with this meal. The BBQ Wagyu Tongue with mojo Verde was a must despite my dining partner’s resistance (in the end he tried it and liked it), and the pork chop, while visually quite plain, was cooked to perfection… so succulent, served with a fab salad of cabbage, creamy ricotta and radish.
It’s a big space with simple wooden tables and chairs, a bar and an exciting enclosure full of house made charcuterie. The menus are simple folded pieces of paper. It wasn’t too full being a Tuesday lunch time, but it still had a good atmosphere.
